Use:This philodendron, called Bituti Huascais common close to riverbanks where it climbs high up the trunks of forest trees. From there the vine sends long roots trailing downward to the ground. These roots are very strong and pliable and have a certain degree of stretchy plasticity. As such they are valued as a building material. In house construction they can be used to tie roof poles to beams. A number of related philodendron species sometimes called “ichilla bituti huasca” or “nanambi huasca” are also used for the same purpose.
